SMILE TRAIN :FREE SURGERY PROGRAMME OF CLEFT LIP AND PALATE
Heritage hospital has started this programme with Smile Train. Smile train is an USA based NGO which exclusively work in the field of Cleft lip and Palate.
Dr Sanjeev Kumar Sharma (Plastic Surgeon) is the Project Director of the Smile train programme, Heritage Hospital has started doing free surgery for Cleft Lip and Palate since June 2006, this an unique thing that right from the bed charges, medicine, operation, and investigation every thing is free. We have been treating patients from Bihar, Chhatisgarh, Jharkhand, M.P, along with whole of the eastern U.P
Our mission:-
• To provide free cleft surgery for millions of poor children in developing countries.
• To provide free cleft-related training for doctors and medical professionals until there are no more children who need help and we have completely eradicated the problem of clefts
. We have successfully operated more than 4000 cleft lip and palate patients
